After our two-day sojourn in Spain, it’s time to return to the birthplace of football for some Friday night Premier League action: our pick for partying and watching soccer on TV today for Friday, August 28, is Crystal Palace vs Manchester City from Selhurst Park in South London.

Crystal Palace vs. Manchester City (Premier League)

There’s an awful lot of talk about Erling Haaland losing his power like Samson, and it’s only fitting that he’ll now be going up against Chris Richards and that glorious afro. I’m predicting another duck for Haaland and City’s first league defeat post-Pep.
At this point, I’ve decided what I really want from the 2026-27 EPL season is a real black and blue affair with everyone taking a beating every weekend. I want the lowest points total ever to win the league (current record is Man United with 75 during the 1996-97 season). No favorites! No champions-elect! No it’s-theirs-to-lose! Just give me some scraps, some toe pokes, some who-are-yas and a questionable meat pie.
