Soccer on TV Today: Saturday, August 29:
How to watch Spurs vs Newcastle United (Premier League)
- Time: 11:30 a.m. CT
- TV and Streaming: NBC
- Location: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium | London, UK
After starting with a 3-0 defeat to Brentford last weekend, this is already feeling like must-win territory for Spurs to avoid a repeat of last season’s dance with relegation. The pessimism surrounding Newcastle also returned in the 90+9th minute of their opening day draw with Liverpool. The team’s four-man attack showed signs of life, but departures from the Toon have left them threadbare in midfield: that’s a recipe for hanging around the trap door.
This one provides us with a little early threat and menace in August. The Sɑkər and Social Club could use a bit of that.

Forget the Newcastle midfield problems, Nico González looks like an immediate fix there. Once again, they look cohesive and threatening in attack. Matthias Jaissle is a genius so far…
For Tottenham it’s two games, no goals, and a 36-match relegation struggle ahead. God speed. Fortuna has really turned against Pedro Porro. You go from winning the World Cup to getting clowned on by a 20-year-old in this life.
