After starting with a 3-0 defeat to Brentford last weekend, this is already feeling like must-win territory for Spurs to avoid a repeat of last season’s dance with relegation. The team’s four-man attack showed signs of life, but departures from the Toon have left them threadbare in midfield: that’s a recipe for hanging around the trap door.
